Sad Face

August 3, 2010

Real Blackberry Messenger conversation with a friend about a recent (pretty awesome) date with Chef:

Dawn: Did ya’ll have fun last night?

Me: A lot of fun

Me: I like him 😦

Dawn: Why the sad face… ?

Me: LOL! I’m warped that I feel the need for 😦

Me: I don’t know, liking someone feels like being set up for a letdown.

Dawn: Damn Raúl.

Catherine: Haha yep. And damn John, Eric, Lamont, ex fiancée, [insert any random guy’s name here], all the guys who do girls wrong.

Dawn: Yep. Amen.

Clearly I’m not yet out of my “Cause men suck” phase. It looked promising for a moment, but we always come riiiiight back.

***And for more details on Raúl, see the next post. Two posts in one day, what am I thinking?! Figured I’d give you a short one, and another friggin’ novel in case you had some time to read.***

Liking someone is not always about let downs. Its about life lessons. And not all men suck! You need to get that out of your head. One day you will realize it. Then you will be back living your fairy tail life 🙂

“Liking someone feels like being set up for a letdown.” I’ve felt that way before. You know you shouldn’t get too invested, that the chances of THIS ONE working out are slim. But, how many months later and you’re still with Chef? Hopefully this guy knocks all the shizzy the other guys left behind out of the park so next time (if Chef likes it but doesn’t put a ring on it) you won’t have that tinge of darkness where you should have butterflies. 🙂

Thanks for your comment. You are right, and I’m hoping that with time it becomes much less scary. 🙂
